Within the framework of applying Law No. (5) of 1426 PB (1997) for investment  of foreign capital, The LFIB granted approvals for construction :
 
Of (42) projects during (2004) in the various fields allowed for investment therein. The size of investment in these projects is estimated at (LD 315 million), of which (USD 172 million) as foreign investment, equal to (LD 224 million) representing (71%) of size of investment in these projects.

And for (54) projects during the period from 1/1 to 31/12/2005 in the various fields allowed for investment therein. The size of investment costs in these projects is estimated at (LD 4,228 million), of which (USD 3,151 million) as investment of foreign capitals, representing (98%) of the size of investment in these projects.
 
Hence, the projects for which approvals were granted for construction thereof, and still existent until 31/05/2007 number (169) projects. The total estimated costs of these projects reach (LD 17,147 million), of which (USD 10,990 Billion) as investments of foreign capital, equal to (LD 14,288 million), representing (83%) of size of investment in these projects. The size of employment opportunities provided by these projects is estimated at about (24,691) jobs 77% out of which jobs for Libyan .

 

The number of projects completed and entering into operation reached (55) fifty five projects in the various fields, of which (32) projects in Industry, (12) projects in the field of services, (8) project in the fields of Health and health services, (2) projects in the field of  Agriculture , (1) one project in each field of Tourism. The investment costs of these project reach about  (LD 520 million)
 
The number of projects finalizing the procedures and entering into construction stage reach (55) Fifty five projects, of which (36) projects in Industry, (6) projects in the fields of Health and health services, (11) projects in services, (2) projects in Real Estate investment, The investment costs of these projects reach about (LD 4,255 Billion).

 The number of projects  in the stage of finalizing procedures for registration in the Investment Register and obtaining license for starting construction reaches (59) Fifty nine projects, of which (39) project in Industry, (5) projects in services, (4) projects in the fields of Health and health service, and (10) projects in Real Estate investment and (1) project of crude oil refinery The expected investment costs of these projects amount to about (LD 12,374 Billion).
